This is a lenghty letter. Anna Discusses how he is missed at home and the problems she is having with the baby. Mr. Lubin and Miss Smart came to take his parents out. His parents miss him and are eagerely awiting him. She wrote Mr. Chiney that he was away and that you would find his poems. She wrote the Hinlou's that you were away. She discusses the great things about the baby. she couldn't find the old Russell Palmer letter. She is pleased tht they liked edwin's lecture.

California poet. Raised near Vacaville, became a schoolteacher in Coloma and later in Oakland. Became famous overnight with publication of "The Man with a Hoe," his protest against brutalization of labor, in "San Francisco Examiner" (January 15, 1899). Following this success Markham moved to New York where he scored another triumph with "Lincoln and Other Poems" (1901).
